CYNTHIA SPEER - "Cynthia was born in Texas, and raised in the jazz and blues hotbeds of Louisiana and Mississippi. She has entertained audiences from Louisiana to California and has performed with legendary jazz musicians such as John Heard, Earl Palmer, Art Hillary and the late Redd Callender. Combining a compelling stage presence, a large ranging repertoire, vocal expertise and top-notch musicianship, Cynthia Speer sings very much in the torch tradition of sultry jazz greats Nancy Wilson, Julie London, Peggy Lee and Sarah Vaughn, and the soulful blues songstress Bonnie Raitt.
In Summer of 2004, Cynthia teamed with renowned jazz musicians John Heard (stand-up bass), Terry Cano (piano), and Chico Fernandez (drums), to create her latest CD offering three of her favorite standards." Source: www.cynthiaspeer.com

HOT FAB DJAZZ CLUB
- "Gypsy Jazz is an idiom that was
pioneered
in the 1930s by guitar legend Django Reinhardt. Reinhardt
combined a dark, chromatic gypsy flavor with the swing
articulation of the period to create a truly beautiful and
original style of jazz. In 1934, Reinhardt met violinist
Stephane Grappelli with whom he founded the Quintet of Hot Club
of France.
The group achieved
international acclaim within a year and Reinhardt quickly became
Europe's first crowned king of jazz. Meanwhile, “chanson”
(French song), has been performed in cafes and music halls
throughout the city of Paris. Lyrics are of central importance
to “chanson” which can be rich in poetry, satire, drama and
emotion. Based on the combination of the European guitar legend
Reinhardt's greatness, Gypsy Jazz which combines a dark
chromatic gypsy flavor with the impact of American swing and
be-bop on French music and “chanson” (French song) performed in
cafes and music halls throughout the city of Paris, HOT FAB
DJAZZ CLUB, created by the inimitable guitar expression and
soulful voice of the passionate French native band leader
Fabrice Vignati (vocals & guitar) and talented co-leader Tracy
Vignati (vocals & clarinet) contributing tasty clarinet lines
and possessing a uniqueness of crystal clarity in her voice,
expresses the beauty and elegance of a repertoire of French and
American popular, original vocal songs and Gypsy Jazz
instrumental music. Gypsy Jazz, French & American music and HOT
FAB DJAZZ CLUB are alive and will swing all over the world for
the joy of all people." Source:

JESSICA
FICHOT
-
Armed
with four languages and an array of instruments, French chanteuse and
songwriter Jessica Fichot is making world music that’s truly universal.
Drawing from her multinational background, Jessica’s music is a fusion
of French chanson, gypsy jazz, jazz, folk music and cabaret - a unique
sound that bridges past and present styles, evoking an ageless quality
accentuated by Jessica’s soft, pure vocals. Composing mostly in French
and English, but adding some Chinese and Spanish covers to her live
repertoire, Jessica’s multilingual music pays tribute to her
international influences.
Born in the U.S. to a French father and Chinese mother, Jessica was
raised in France, where she started performing in local Parisian venues
at age 14, chasing her dream through coffeehouses, concert halls, and
eventually music school. After graduating first from the School of Audio
Engineering in Paris, then from Berklee College of Music in Boston,
Jessica’s career took an unexpected direction, as she was hired to write
and produce children’s songs for educational programs. Bearing some of
the worldly flavor that appears in Jessica’s newer projects, her
children’s music has also been published in over a dozen countries, and
can now be heard on kids’ TV shows.
After moving to California, Jessica was determined to go back to her
more adult songwriting, and to go beyond traditional instrumentation.
She assembled a talented group of musicians who shared her eclectic
vision, and quickly established herself as a unique and talented voice
in the Los Angeles music scene. In between writing and performing,
Jessica drafted Jack Johnson’s drummer, Adam Topol, and Grammy- winning
violinist Mads Tolling to play on her upcoming album, slated for a March
07 release.
Fusing styles and languages and accompanied by talented and eclectic
musicians, Jessica Fichot’s unique musical vision is ready to be
unveiled.

DIANE HUBKA - Diane Hubka is an engaging performer whether singing with an ensemble or accompanying herself on seven-string guitar. She has recorded and performed from New York to Los Angeles with many jazz luminaries including Lee Konitz, Bucky Pizzarelli, Gene Bertoncini, Frank Kimbrough, Bruce Barth, John Hart and the Brazilian Trio Da Paz. Displaying both a respect for traditional form and a flair for innovative styling, she uses her voice in subtle, appealing interpretations, playfully improvising as if one of the instruments. Diane casts a wide net for her material, which includes many lesser known gems as well as straight-ahead Jazz, Blues, Brazilian Bossa Nova and classic American Popular Songs.
She won international acclaim when her debut CD, Haven't We Met, with alto sax legend Lee Konitz, was nominated for a 1999 Jazz Award for Best Recording Debut, alongside Stefon Harris, Ravi Coltrane and Brian Blade. Critic Scott Yanow heralded her second CD, Look No Further, as "one of the best in recent times." Her third CD, You Inspire Me is a tribute (and a testament) to her love of jazz guitar and features the singer with seven of the world's top virtuoso guitarists. www.dianehubka.com

LEA HERMAN
- "Since 2002, Lea has been writing music and performing in Los
Angeles
both
solo and with bands. In 2003, Lea recorded a disc of five of the
songs she had been performing during that first year. Frank
Strauss (touring keyboard player with Tom Jones), was the
producer/engineer at Muse Studio in Van Nuys.
Now, Lea is writing strong, moving songs which encompass the broad range of emotions she has been inspired to express through music: Hope and happiness in the context of nostalgia (as in “Chicago” and “Driving Back”), restlessness in the context of the complicated nature of life and relationships (as in “Luck”, “Maybe Still”, and “Come Home”), reflection and longing (as in “Down Too Low” and “David”), and many others. Lea performs her songs, often along with covers from artists such as Nina Simone, Gram Parsons, and James Taylor each with a sense of deep connection, and the intention of engaging the audience on a true level."
