Bartending Jobs

October 31st, 2009

A little bit clumsy I am feeling now. My part time job in the library finished yesterday. The boss actually likes my job but there have been several new applicants for the position. In the meantime, I am just a college student who needs some extra money for college payment.

Sitting on a rattan barstool in my favorite café near my campus, I am wondering whether there will be part time jobs for college students this season. Perhaps my college friends have some information about that but this afternoon I see no one of them around. Only the waitresses and the bartender I know. Well, since no friend is around, it is better to have a chat with the bartender.

Bartending Jobs photoHe apparently likes to talk with customers, or perhaps being kind and friendly are the requirements of bartending jobs. He looks quite smart also; most of topics we are talking about are responded well and deeply up-to-date. Gee, in my opinion, he should have worked as a consultant or something. But he seems to like his job.
With all his heart, he said that any jobs he must do, he will dedicate for it and enjoy it; no matter of what his position is; on the front door, beverage jobs, parking valet or others. Not only work hard to make the boss happy; the main point is that whatever you do it is your life and your habit. Wow! How deep his thought is. Now I assume him to have had a job as a philosopher or a priest. I realize that he does not mean to teach me something; all his expressions and answers are dependent on my questions and I am impressed of that. How I have never noticed that in this favorite café for the past years of college there is a good person like him, a good person I will enjoy to talk and discuss with.
I am then thinking of food and beverage jobs; they must be quite interesting. But I am not sure whether I could resist my desire of facing nice food and delicious drink in front of me!

Time to Exit

October 20th, 2009

This is too long! How could I be left like this? Where is he? Alright, sitting alone in this café is sometimes nice, but when you have an appointment with someone, but she does not come up by the deadline, how do you feel? And it is more than 30 minutes without a call at all! I tried to contact her but her mobile seems to be inactive. You know what I feel now. With a little bit peevish, I keep my eyes on the climbing-up escalator.

Time to Exit photoFor my surprise, she appears from the left door under the exit sign. In my conclusion, she must have just arrived, parked her car down in the basement and hurriedly climbed up the stairs. Well, it is partly true. She is indeed in a hurry for meeting me here; however, she said that she had apparently lost the way. She was there in the parking basement for more than 15 minutes. After parking her car in the middle of wide parking area, she got disoriented on which way to go. There are several ‘EXIT SIGNS’ on the wall and hung down from the parking ground ceiling and they don’t really help her. She had been trying to go on the contrary; against the direction of signs. She had been climbing up and down for three times because the doors at the end of the stairway are locked. She must have taken wrong ways. She was also trying to contact me but the signal down there is terribly poor.

Gee, I take a pity on her. I have been murmuring on her coming late or probably on her incapability of coming here whilst she was ‘trapped’ down there in the parking ground. It is certainly right that following exit signs is a great idea if we follow the arrow or the area to go exit; however, if we go on the other side of where the exit signs point at, things will get to be a lot different. Never think that going to the other side of the word ‘exit’ you will find the way ‘enter’.
Well, nevertheless, that is just a little thing as a warming up for our meeting here. Knowing the whole truth of each of us, we then both just laugh. And after having a little time in the café, I guess it is time to exit.
