Benefits of Cooking for Two photoDo you like a cooking?? With who you usually cooking?? You better enjoy if cook by yourself or with someone.

After years of cooking for five and now you are empty nesters, it can be hard to get used to cooking for only two again. With just two to cook for, your options are many. You may even want to get both of you in the kitchen and use this time for even better communication while doing this chore.

One way to stretch your food dollars is to cook recipes that by design are for four or more and saving the extra portions for an additional meal. Not only do you save money on ingredients, but it is a great time saver, cooking once and using it twice. It can also be a great idea for those who do not like to cook at all.

The trend is to just go out and have junk food at the many fast food or informal dinning places that are available. The big mistake in this is thinking it is any less expensive than eating at home, or any quicker. Most meals at home take far less time than driving someplace, cost way less per meal and taste so much better, not to mention the nutrition aspect to it.

Several unexpected advantages of cooking for two are that you can try cuisine that is new to you both, with very little risk, as you will be only making enough for two, if you don’t like it, you are not wasting very much. So never had Thai food? Give it a try. How about Indian curry? Why not! Cooking for two allows you to be adventurous with very little downside, so go for it.

Invite your partner to join you in cooking for the two of you. This can be a great time of coming together and talking about your likes and dislikes and what foods you want to try. Perhaps having a discussion about the foods you like and dislike will lead to conversations about new ideas for meals and dinning adventures to have on your next vacation. It will also help you make a list of meals to add or take off your dinner meal plan.

One advantage to limiting your meals to only two is that you can have your favorites more often. If you like steaks, it is much less expensive to do two than to feed the family of five those great NY steaks. Taking time to make the things you really like makes dinning an event, not a chore. It brings joy to another area of your life, and that is always a good thing.
