Original Shortbread A Classic Biscuit Recipe photoDo you like a shortbread?? Can you make it?? Don’t worry, I will tell you about how to make a shortbread.

Following is a classic recipe for shortbread lovers everywhere that can be made as a tasty treat to be shared with loved ones.

Ingredients:

4 oz caster sugar

8 oz butter at room temperature

4 oz rice flour

8 oz plain flour

Pinch of salt

Using a mixing bowl, whisk the sugar and butter together until nice and creamy. Add in all the flour and a pinch of salt and briefly whisk so that the ingredients just come together.

Put the ingredients on to a work surface and knead into a soft dough. Make it circle shaped, wrap it in clingfilm and leave for 30 minutes.

Cut the dough in half and roll the pieces on a floured surface to an 8 inch round. Put the 2 pieces onto ungreased baking sheets and use a knife to cut it into 8 equal measures and prick them with a fork.

Sprinkle on the sugar. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the mix for up to 20 minutes, or until browned. Take out the mix and divide into wedges whilst still hot, then leave to cool for about 5 minutes and transfer to a tin.

This recipe will serve up to 16 people, has a preparation time of 15 minutes and a cooking time of up to 20 minutes.

Care for Cards for Christmas

December 16th, 2009

Care for Cards for Christmas photoBased on the schedule, the train should be here in around 30 minutes. It means that I must be ready for it. Yet, this café is the closest to the platform where the train will stop so I am sure I still have time for a cup of coffee.

Looking around trying to find a waiter here, my eyes are caught on some beautiful Christmas gifts on nicely arranged on a teak table at the corner of the café. They are really wonderful. I leave my seat to get to the gift table and touch each gift there. There are toys, dolls, accessories, local-made clothing and some local handicraft from silver. Wow! Each gift is tagged with price, and I think the prices are reasonable. However, I don’t bring enough cash.

I wonder if my bass pro gift card could work here. Well, I don’t think it is mistaken if just ask the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper does not seem to recognize the card, and I guess it is just fine. I was just trying though I would apparently lose my chance to get one of the charming gifts.

I got this card from my brother before I went back here to start another semester of college in the end of summer two months ago. It is my birthday present and he said that I could use the card for getting some beautiful gifts from certain shops, stores and malls. Most of those places are available in the center of the city, but to make sure about the available places where this card could be used he suggests me checking on GiftCardMall.com; I could also find out the moment of discount and best items on sales.

I get back to my seat and get online to the site on my laptop. I have visited this site for several times so that the downloading time takes only seconds. I wonder whether this side town has places or shops that could accept this card. Well, there are some, but not in this café and I don’t think I have time to get to the places. So I just sit back and look at my card which has my autograph in it. The picture was not my picture when my brother gave me; but I had visited several and personalized photo card to Bass Pro shops in the city. Then the result is this; my own picture on my bicycle taken by my mobile camera. The quality of the image is not so good, but it is nice enough to see on a card. I am quite proud of showing it to my college friend.
